ASME Awareness Program
Silver Oak Group of Institutes had organized an ASME Awareness Program for the 2nd and 3rd year students on 26th August 2017. More than 150 students and mechanical faculty members gathered for the event. Aim of the program was to connect student with the outer world competition and make the familiar about the benefits of American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Four experts who were invited for the Awareness Program were, 1. Dr. Siddharth Jadeja, 2. Mr. Nishant Trivedi, 3. Mr. Nawaz Ghodi, 4. Mr. Karan Desai.
ASME E-FEST PARTICIPATION (2018)
HPVC (Human Powered Vehicle Challenge)
Participants from Silver Oak Group of Institute participated in events of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) E-Fest Asia Pacific 2018 which was held at DTU, Delhi. Human-powered transport is often the only type available in underdeveloped or inaccessible parts of the world, and if well designed, can be an increasingly viable form of sustainable transportation. ASME's Human Powered Vehicle Challenge provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate the application of sound engineering design principles in the development of sustainable and practical transportation alternatives. ASME Student Section SOGI Form a tram for HPVC (Human Powered Vehicle Challenge) TEAM STRIKERS which won 1st prize in an endurance race which is 2.5 hours of racing. Participating in this event for the first time and winning it makes these achievements.
Student Design Competition (SDC):
The ASME Student Design Competition provides a platform for ASME Student Members to present their solutions to a range of design problems - from everyday household tasks to groundbreaking space exploration. Each team is required to design, construct and operate a prototype meeting the requirements of an annually determined problem statement. In the summer of 2018, the sporting world’s attention will be drawn to the FIFA World Cup in Russia, where the best football (soccer in the US) teams will compete. The 2018 Student Design Competition challenges your imagination and technical design skills to create a “team” to compete against three other teams in a modified four-way football competition.
ASME GT INDIA SEMINAR
ASME GT INDIA SEMINAR organized by ASME student section on 29th September 2018.
WELDING WORKSHOP
In this Workshop students was aware about Activities, events and conferences how it helps them to enhance their skills for their bright career.
In workshop first Session Theoretical Knowledge given and second phase practical. During practical session students have interacted also frequently questions asked to students to get an idea that how much they were active during the session and how much learned.
ASME EFest 2019
ASME Efest Asia Pacific 2019 HPVC competition was held at VIT, Vellore, Chennai in 2019. Team Infinity (ASME SOU)Team Secured 3rd rank in Drag Race.
ASME EFest 2020
ASME Efest Asia Pacific 2020 HPVC competition was held at Marawadi University , Rajkot in 2020. Team Infinity (ASME SOU)Team Secured 1st rank in Drag Race.
E-hackathon
E-hackathon was held in collaboration with AutodeskFusion-360 on virtual platform. Where student presents there ideas based on problem statement which is given by experts. As an Expert We had Mr.Badri Hriyur( Autodesk Education Solution Specialist ), Mr.Manan bateriwala(Founder of KEEPSAKE), Mr.Karmjeetsinh bihola ( Founder of INNODESK ). Whole event run under guidance of Proff. Rushil Shah ( Head Department of Mechanical engineering ,ASOIT ), Proff. Meet shah ( Head Department of Mechanical engineering ,SOCET ) With Prof. Dhruv Patel and Prof. Pravin Kumar Suthar. We had total 22 team in E-Hackathon.
KTM SUBJECT SESSION conducted by senior student speakers to help juniors in their Kinematics and Theory machine subject. From these session students can understand all fundamentals of this subject and through that it would be help them in their university exams
SCIENCE PITCHING COMPETITION
ASME SOU organized SCIENCE PITCHING COMPETITION where students from different branches can explore new innovations in their respective field and make posters on it and present it to the judges panel .this competition had mainly two parts where in first part they have to make a team of maximum 2 person and then by selecting their topic ,they have to make one poster on it within a deadline of 12hrs and judges will qualify some team on basis of their topic, explanation and aesthetics and then qualified team has to present and explain the poster in front of judges panel in presentation round. So by this their technical as well as non-technical skills can be enhanced
A webinar REDUCING FOSSIL FUEL DEPENDENCY OF AUTOMOBILEon the theme "Energy Conservation"was organized by ASME SOU STUDENT SECTION in association with " SKYY RIDER INSTITUTE " hosted by Prof. Lokesh Pandey in which more than 70 students came from different universities and they got the knowledge on this topic from, what are Fossil fuels? To what challenges are faced due to them? And how we can actually control vanishing out fossil fuels by using different techniques and methods and using alternative renewable fuels which can be used in Automobiles which are as efficient and effective as fossil fuels and can easily do the conservation of energy.
Now a days designing software are very important to learn and it is bit expensive to learn commercially so for enhancing the student’s knowledge we arranged free fusion 360 bootcamp.
ASME SOU Student Section organized techno tour to Gujarat Science city (Robotics & Aquatics Gallery) to provide the students learning and enriching experience.
ASME SOU Student Section organized session on pressure vessels standard to provide the students learning and enriching experience.
